My Second Winter

It snowed last night! I was sound asleep when it happened but woke up to Liz’ text message this morning and looked out the window to see the traces of snow on the ground. Snow is nothing new after living in New York, but it was quite exciting to see it here in South Africa. Everyone else was quite excited as well as it hasn’t snowed in a really long time. I tried to look up when it last snowed but came across many discrepancies; one source said it hasn’t snowed in eight years and the other twenty years. Right now we have the fire place going in Sally’s house. It’s kind of nice. It’s been freezing these past few days with the cold front. Despite the excitement of the snow, I hate winter for so many reasons. I’m from Orange County. I don’t do cold.
